USB VBUS pass-through (4.0–5.25V from the host USB port). Available on most CP2102 breakouts to power 5V targets.
Regulated 3.3V output from the CP2102 internal LDO. Useful for powering small 3.3V loads (a few tens of mA); not intended to power a full ESP32 module.
Common ground between the module, the host USB cable, and the target board.
UART transmit from the CP2102 to the target MCU. Drives the target's RX. Logic level depends on the module's VIO jumper (typically 3.3V on modern CP2102 breakouts; some legacy boards are 5V).
UART receive from the target MCU into the CP2102. Connects to the target's TX. CP2102 RXD inputs are 5V tolerant on the chip itself, but logic levels follow the module's selected VIO.
Data Terminal Ready modem control (driven by the host PC). Most commonly used together with RTS to drive the auto-reset / auto-bootloader sequence on ESP8266, ESP32 and Arduino targets (DTR -> EN/RESET via a transistor pair).
Request To Send modem control (driven by the host PC). Paired with DTR for the ESP8266/ESP32/Arduino auto-bootloader strap (RTS -> GPIO0/IO0 via a transistor pair).
