  • Confirm what the project needs to measure: temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, TVOC, eCO2 or AQI.
  • Match protocol first: analog ADC, DHT single-data-line, or I²C.
  • For I²C modules, check fixed addresses, pull-ups, bus voltage and whether another device already uses the same address.
  • Check supply voltage, connector/pinout and mounting before swapping boards.
  • Change the software library and read timing when moving between DHT, AHT/DHT20, HTU21D-F, LM35 and ENS160/BME280 modules.
  • Use the vendor guide or datasheet as the final authority before production.
