Schematik Raises $4.6M Pre-Seed to Help Anyone Build Hardware With AI

We raised $4.6M in a pre-seed round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with Puzzle Ventures and founders across robotics, AI, and electronics joining — making hardware as easy to build as software.

Schematik Raises $4.6M Pre-Seed to Help Anyone Build Hardware With AI

The biggest problems in the world are physical, but most smart people are building software. How we build hardware hasn't changed in the past 20 years, even though everything around it has shifted. That's finally changing — AI has gotten good enough to generate firmware, validate wiring, and reason about how electronic components fit together.

Two years ago, this wasn't possible. Now it is. We aim to be the ones who build it.

Why we're building this

Over the past years, tools like Lovable and Claude Code have completely changed how we build software and lowered the barrier so that anyone can create software. But building hardware is still really hard. Schematik solves that — you describe what you want to build, and it gives you the code, wiring diagrams, component list, and assembly instructions to make it work.

From side project to Schematik

Sam Beek, founder of Schematik, in the workshop

It started as a side project. I was building hardware in my spare time, got frustrated with how broken the workflow was, and hacked together a first version. After the first video hit millions of views and thousands of people started building their own projects with Schematik, we knew this was way bigger than a side project. Before Schematik, I spent 5 years at VEED helping scale it from early stage to $50M+ ARR — and the pull we felt from this community was stronger than anything we'd seen before.

Who's backing us

We've raised $4.6M in pre-seed funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with Puzzle Ventures participating, alongside some of the most inspiring founders in our space:

What's next

We're using the funds to hire a founding team that's exceptional at AI, hardware, and design. In the next months, we're fully focused on making the product rock solid so that making hardware becomes less hard. Every week we'll be building more ambitious projects with Schematik, and when we hit roadblocks, we improve the product. We'll be documenting all of it on YouTube and X.

If you want to build something that actually exists in the physical world, open Schematik and describe what you want to make. We'll hand you the code, the wiring, and the parts list. Or download Schematik and run it locally on macOS — other platforms coming soon.
