Circular Soft Potentiometer (Ribbon Sensor)

Circular Soft Potentiometer (Ribbon Sensor) — Adafruit — 1069

Circular resistive ribbon sensor with a donut-shaped sensing region (55.96 mm OD, 35.63 mm ID) and nominal 10 kΩ across the outer leads. The center wiper floats when unpressed — use a ~100 kΩ pull-up.

  • Outer lead A

One outer lead of the nominal 10K soft potentiometer. Adafruit says one side pin is connected to ground through a 10K series resistor for use.

Type · UnknownVoltage · Use through 10K series resistor; do not connect directly to ground/power per Adafruit product page.
  • Wipermiddle pin

Middle pin resistance changes relative to either outer lead depending on press position; read as the analogue output. Adafruit says it floats with no pressure.

Type · AnalogVoltage · Analogue voltage ranges from about 1/3 Vcc to 2/3 Vcc in Adafruit suggested circuit.
  • Outer lead B

Other outer lead of the nominal 10K soft potentiometer. Adafruit says the other side pin is connected to Vcc through a 10K series resistor for use.

Type · PowerVoltage · Vcc may be 3V, 5V etc through 10K series resistor per Adafruit product page.
