Biometrics

Fingerprint readers verify identity; pulse, ECG and EMG sensors capture a body signal. They share a shelf and nothing else.

UART/I2C fingerprint modules, MAX30102 PPG breakouts, and analog ECG/EMG front-ends for access control and hobby biometric sensing.

  • Fingerprint options are mostly UART: the capacitive ID809 (80 prints, 360° recognition), a 1000-print optical module, and Waveshare's capacitive readers — an STM32F105-based original plus a UART/USB dual-port version; the GT-511C3 is a 5V TTL optical module.
  • Heart rate splits by output: MAX30102 PPG breakouts (Fermion and Gravity, I2C/UART) return processed readings, while Pulse Sensor Amped and the piezoelectric pulse sensor are analog waveforms for your ADC.
  • ECG and EMG are analog front-ends — Gravity's analog ECG monitor, OYMotion's EMG sensor and MyoWare 2.0 — and all need disposable electrode pads, sold here in 10–12 packs.
  • None of this is medical equipment; even the MAX30102 vendor copy says not for medical use. Treat readings as hobby telemetry.
