Light and colour

Photoresistors and color sensors both respond to light, but they expose very different signals and are not sensible drop-in substitutes.

CdS photoresistor

resistance divider → analog input

Simple light-dependent resistor. As light increases, resistance falls, so most circuits read it through a resistor divider rather than as a self-contained sensor module.

color filter control + frequency output

Board-level color detector. Selects filtered photodiode groups and reports light intensity as a square-wave frequency, with onboard LEDs for controlled illumination.
