Temp & humidity
Temperature, humidity and pressure are separate measurements that often share a die — and this family now spans everything from the DHT11 tutorial staple to precision SHT45 chips and high-temperature thermocouple amplifiers.
DHT/AHT sensors, SHT-series humidity chips, BMP and LPS barometers, BME combined sensors, DS18B20 probes, thermocouple amplifiers and non-contact MLX IR sensors — about 165 listings, very different accuracy classes.
- Single-wire and basic I2C humidity: DHT11 and DHT22/AM2302 are the tutorial workhorses (one reading every 1–2 seconds); DHT20/AHT20 speak real I2C and drop straight in; SHT30/SHT40/SHT45, HTU21D-F, Si7021 and HDC3022 step up to ±0.1–0.5°C accuracy and ship as STEMMA QT/Qwiic breakouts.
- Pressure-first parts: BMP280 and the newer BMP580/BMP581/BMP585 generation, plus LPS25/LPS28; LPS35HW adds water resistance. All report temperature too, but as a compensation channel rather than a precision thermometer.
- BME280 combines temperature, humidity and pressure on one I2C/SPI breakout; BME680/BME68X adds a gas resistance channel. One part can replace three single-function boards.
- Outside the 0–60°C comfort zone: DS18B20 1-Wire probes for long wired runs, MCP9600/MCP9601 thermocouple amplifiers (with K-type thermocouples sold separately) for high temperatures, and MLX90614/MLX90632 for non-contact IR measurement. The analog LM35 needs no library — 10mV/°C straight into an ADC pin.
